Merry-go-Round Videos

This video shows the Merry-go-Round in the Playland carnival. This looks so much like the real thing that when looking at it closeup you almost can’t tell the difference. Everything not made of toothpicks is hand-carved and hand-painted. Visit the Merry-go-Round page to see still shots of this ride.

In this video Billy inspects the Merry-go-Round to make sure everything is performing to expectation. Each piece has been meticulously created and joined with the other pieces.

This Merry-go-Round is a miniature that Burke built early on but we are not sure of the exact date yet. It is on display at Musee Mecanique museum on San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf. There are also still shots of this ride on the Merry-go-Round page. Notice the different animals that have been used instead of the traditional horses on this ride. Also notice how fast this ride goes. This is not for the faint of heart!
